UPCOMING UNIFORM/PRIMARY ELECTIONS
The City of Garland will hold a General Election for the Office of the Mayor and Districts 3, 6, 7, and 8 and a Special Election for an unfinished term in District 1 on May 1, 2021.
INSTRUCTIONAL MEMO TO CANDIDATES
Early voting dates and times:
April 19-23 | Monday-Friday | 8am to 5pm |
April 24 | Saturday | 8am to 5pm |
April 25 | Sunday | 1pm to 6pm |
April 26-27 | Monday-Tuesday | 7am to 7pm |
Below is the current order for persons that have filed an application for a place on the May 1 General and Special (D1) election ballot:

The following documents are required to file for a place on the ballot:
- Application for place on ballot- Special Election - Only for District 1 Vacancy (Application filing period begins Feb 3 - Mar 1)
- Petition(s)with correct number of valid signatures. Every person desiring to file for elective office with the city shall first present to the City Secretary a sufficient petition signed by a minimum of the following:
- Petitions with 31 or more signatures from the citizens in your district for a Council office
- Campaign Treasurer Appointment
- Disclosure Form (required by the City’s Ethics Ordinance)
