Sign In  |  Site Map  |  Comments Home » Christmas on the Square » Event Highlights Event Highlights           The City's official Christmas Tree will be lit in a spectacular ceremony highlighted with fireworks and confetti. After the tree-lighting, Santa will be at his special Workshop on the Square to offer his lap for children ages who want to ask for Christmas wishes and goodies.          The entire event will be spiced with holiday music performed by area choirs performing on the square.      Garland Power & Light’s  “Avenue of Lights” will brighten Heritage Park and will extend down Fifth Street in front of the Patty Granville Arts Center.  Patrons can enjoy the holiday glow aboard horse-drawn sleighs.  The sleigh ride tours are free!   And what would a holiday festival be without delicious treats?  Patrons can enjoy such goodies as hand-dipped corn dogs, popcorn, caramel apples and hot chocolate as they stroll through the Christmas Bazaar area filled with invitation-only artisans.      Parking will be available at the DART parking lot at Fifth and Walnut.                         Home Christmas on the Square Event Highlights Event Sponsors
